Gas scintillation proportional counter

Abstract

The utility model provides a gas scintillation proportional counter which comprises a gas counter and a photomuitplier, wherein the gas counter is fully filled with working gas; an entrance window is arranged above the gas container, and an exit window is arranged below; an electric field is added in the gas container; after entering the gas container through the entrance window, Ga rays or X rays have photoelectric effect with the working gas in the gas container to produce photoelectron; under the action of the electric field, the photoelectron excites gas atoms being accelerated by the electric field, and emits vacuum ultraviolet photons which are jetted out from the exit window and detected by the photomuitplier; and the upper part of the exit window is a wavelength conversions structure. The gas scintillation proportional counter can meet the requirement of vivo irradiation measurement after low-energy radionuclides are intaken into the human body, and can detect the retreat laser of the working gas only with the common photomuitplier, thereby greatly reducing the cost.
本实用新型提供的气体闪烁正比计数器,由气体容器和光电倍增管组成,其中,气体容器中充满了工作气体,气体容器的上方有入射窗、下方有出射窗,气体容器内加有电场,γ射线或X射线透过入射窗进入气体容器后,与气体容器中的工作气体发生光电效应产生光电子,在电场的作用下,电子经电场加速后激发气体原子,发射出真空紫外光子,从出射窗射出并被光电倍增管探测,上述出射窗的上部是波长转换结构。该气体闪烁正比计数器能满足人体摄入低能核素后内照射活体测量的需要,它只需要使用普通的光电倍增管就可以探测到工作气体的退激光,大大降低了气体闪烁正比计数器的成本。
